My name is Rocky Rockwell and I am running for State House because I believe it’s time for a change. It’s time for a new face to represent the people. It’s time for a proven leader, who isn’t already part of the system, to be the voice of the people. I will fight to secure a better future – our children’s future – with quality education, enhanced public safety, higher wage jobs, and a renewed focus on family values.

As a Navy Chief Petty Officer, I have been in charge of over 125 people. As a Customer Service Manager, I’ve judiciously resolved issues while supervising 35 employees. From working part-time at Best Buy to maintaining computer systems at Lockheed Martin, all of my jobs have provided me with invaluable, hands-on experience. I’ve enjoyed working with diverse groups of people and learned to handle various situations effectively and professionally.

As a Salt Lake resident, I am aware of and concerned by the issues that face our district. Formerly living on the North Shore, in Waipahu and St. Louis Heights, and owning a home in Makiki has provided me with a deeper understanding of how those issues also relate and are interconnected to the entire state.

I have experienced life and work from many different perspectives and will apply the knowledge I have gained toward keeping Hawaii a great place to live. I look forward to meeting and talking with each and every one of you in person.
